Last updated on the 14th of August 10:00 GMT

All trips for 2020 have now been cancelled

During recent times, the CoronaVirus (COVID-19) has been a major talking point and has had an unforeseeable effect on every aspect of the world, especially for travel companies. At Camp South Africa we prioritise the Safety and Wellbeing of all our participants and staff both in the UK and around the world.

As a company, we have a duty of care to you as well as our staff and the communities we work with on all of our programme’s and therefore, following the advice of the FCO (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) and WHO (World Health Organisation), we have made the very difficult decision to cancel all trips running between the following dates:

24th April – 31st August 2020.

Leading up to this there have been many of you expressing concerns about how you don’t want to miss out on doing the program and still want to take part at a later date. So don’t worry, we have implemented a system so we can still make this happen!

We are following advice from the World Health Organisation & Foreign Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom and other authorities around the world in order to ensure that we can provide the best advice and care for everyone involved with Camp South Africa.

We would like to take this opportunity to answer a few of the most frequently asked questions about how this virus may affect your trip.

What happens If my Camp South AfrIca Intake Is cancelled?

  1. We can apply a free date change to another date in 2020.
  2. We can apply a free location change to a Camp program in another country in 2020.
  3. We can provide travel credit to be used on any of our other Camp programs in the future in 2020, 2021 & 2022.

If I cancel now due to coronavIrus wIll I get a refund?

We will not be issuing direct refunds due to COVID-19.

If you do cancel you have the option of a free date change, country location change or receive travel credit for a future program as stated above.

Where can I get more InformatIon on CovId-19?

To get the most recent updates you can monitor the World Health Organisation.

I have already booked my flIghts. What happens If my date or locatIon changes?

In this case you should check that you have included trip insurance so you’re covered in these events. We suggest getting in contact with your airline or booking agent to see what options are available in these circumstances. As of right now a large number of airlines are offering free date changes on flights over the next year in the unlikely event you need to move your camp to another date.

Should I get travel Insurance for my trIp?

Adequate travel insurance is a condition of your contract with us. You must be satisfied that your insurance fully covers all your personal requirements and circumstances.

Can I stIll apply for Camp South AfrIca?

Yes, you can still apply and join our program. If you are accepted onto the program the options above will apply. In the unlikely event you do have to defer you will get first choice on 2021 dates.

Our demand for Camp South Africa is still incredibly strong and we suggest you still confirm your place as soon as possible.
